ROYAL QUEEN COVERS UP
Avalanche Releases “pin up”
and “safe versions” of Queen of the Celts Release
Birmingham, AL -October 30, 2007 Avalanche Press
will begin shipping two cover versions of their much awaited Rome at War: Queen of the Celts release the end of this week.
Customers get their choice of the “Safe” cover (APL0110) and a dangerously seductive “pin-up” cover
(APL0110A) created by renowned Heavy Metal artist Lorenzo Sperlonga. The cover art for the “safe” version can
be viewed at http://www.avalanchepress.com/miva/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=0110&Category_Code= and the pin up cover can be seen at http://www.avalanchepress.com/miva/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=0110a&Category_Code= .
“You’d be amazed at some of the comments we have gotten.” Joked Avalanche CEO Mike Bennighof.
“My favorite was a complaint that breast implants aren’t historically accurate.” Lys Fulda, Avalanche Press
vice president quipped “The pin up cover is gorgeous but it’s just not something ever retailer can sell. I love
it but yes my first reaction to it was envisioning angry mobs with pitchforks standing outside the ma and pa game store.”
An article detailing the creation of both covers can be found at http://www.avalanchepress.com/BoudiccaBabe.php .
Fans can order the product at their local game store at www.avalanchepress.com Preorders for customers will begin shipping the end of next week. Rome at War: Queen of the Celts is the third in the Avalanche
Press Rome at War series. Rome at War: Hannibal at Bay and Rome of War: Fading Legions precede it.

JOHN PRADOS’ THIRD REICH GETS A FACE LIFT!
Third Edition Rules for Third Reich are now available
(Birmingham AL, October 22 2007) Avalanche Press announced today that 3rd edition Third Reich rules are
available for free download online or as a hard copy that is available for free with another purchase. Removal of sub phases
and variations in rules, simplified sea zone combat, more solitaire friendly diplomacy
rules and streamlined dice rolls
are many of the improvements that have been made in the new edition. Add to those
improvements more examples of play
and better labeled paragraphs and new and old players will be able to pick up
their trusted friend and enjoy more intuitive
play.
“All ladies who are in the early thirties start to worry about those little lines and staying modern.
Third Reich is easily the
spokesmodel for wargames and historical board games everywhere and not immune to the ravages
of time,” mused Mike Bennighof, CEO of Avalanche Press. “She’s our grand dame and we
wanted her to
keep up with the times. The original game was released by Avalon Hill in 1975 and our revised edition came out in 2001. A
new cover hit earlier this year so it was just time for the final nip and tuck!”
The new rules apply to
both Third Reich and her sister game Great Pacific War. Fans can download the new Second World War Book at http://www.avalanchepress.com/TR_GPW_ThirdEdition.php or place an order for them for free in the Avalanche Press store. Retailers who want the new
rules can do so for free with their next order.
